1/4 x 1/4 Heat Treated Steel Standard Dowel Pin separates alignment from clamping so the bolted joint does not have to carry both jobs. Standard Series dowels are intentionally oversize, with the basic diameter 0.0002 in. over nominal so the pin presses into a nominal reamed hole.
