5/16-18 x 5 1/2 is a square head set screw used where an open wrench or socket can access the head and point style must be specified at order.

Typical applications include couplings and collars in heavy service where point style is part of the assembly design. Specify the point style at order; the same size can be supplied as Half Dog, Full Dog, Cone, Oval, or Flat. Flat points bear against a machined flat without intentional penetration into the mating surface.
