1/4 x 11/16 Tension Pin (Slotted Spring Pin) is a slotted roll pin selected when a normal drilled hole is preferred over a reamed dowel-pin hole. Tension pin, slotted spring pin, and roll pin describe the same slotted self-retaining pin style. As the pin enters the hole, the slotted wall compresses and the spring steel reacts outward against the hole surface.

For shaft-to-hub retention, light drives, or spacer assemblies, check the drilled-hole range, pin length, and access for driving the pin squarely. For worn precision holes, 0.001 Oversize Dowel Pins may be the better repair path than using a spring pin.
