Washdown equipment alignment is a natural fit because the pin provides location without relying on a screw shank inside a clearance hole. Per ASME B18.8.2, unhardened ground dowel pins are produced by grinding stainless rod to final diameter for repeatable press-fit behavior. Use the nominal diameter, tolerance band, and length together; the dowel sets location while separate fasteners provide clamping force.
