In outdoor control enclosures, panel hardware, or instrument mounting brackets, the internal hex drive keeps installation compact while the insert adds thread-friction locking action. Slight magnetism from cold working can be normal for 18-8 stainless, so selection should reflect the actual assembly environment and mating hardware.
