Self-retaining tension pins are made of highly elastic special spring steel, cold rolled, hardened and tempered. Hollowed and slotted lengthwise to create tension, they're light in weight. The outside diameter before insertion is larger by a predetermined amount that the bore of the hole in which the tension pin is to be pressed. Compressed as they are driven in the hole, the spring steel experts pressure on the walls of the hole which holds the pins tightly in place and absorbs vibration without loosening.

Machined chamfered ends make driving simple. Expensive tapping, reaming and milling is eliminated - only a drilled hole to normal production tolerance is required.
