This point style is useful when the part may be loosened and reset without the deep mark of a biting point. Specify the heat-treated alloy steel body with nylon pellet when the print calls for mechanical set screw hardware, not a stainless substitute.

Packaging equipment and indexing stations may specify the insert when repeated motion would otherwise relax the setting.
