1/4-20 x 4 1/2 Cup Point Square Head Set Screw is a square-drive, cup-point set screw for assemblies where the head itself provides the wrenching surface. The square flats also make the part recognizable on older assemblies that were designed before headless hex-socket set screws became common.

Industrial controls with exposed mechanical adjustments can use square-head set screws where a protruding wrench head is intentionally specified.
