5/16 x 3 Pull Dowel Pin (Threaded Dowel Pin) is selected where die maintenance or fixture teardown requires pulling the pin straight out. The same product may appear on drawings or maintenance notes as a pull dowel, pull-out dowel, tapped dowel, or threaded dowel pin. Otherwise, it performs the locating job of a standard dowel pin: a ground exterior in a reamed hole for repeatable positioning.

In retrofits where a standard dowel seized in a blind hole, repair plates, and replacement tooling, the pull feature supports service without disturbing more of the assembly than necessary. Where economical retention in a drilled hole is enough, Tension Pins may be the better product family than a ground dowel.
