5/8 x 1/4 Heat Treated Steel Standard Dowel Pin supports die-set and fixture alignment by establishing the positional reference before clamp screws are tightened. Standard Series dowels are intentionally oversize, with the basic diameter 0.0002 in. over nominal so the pin presses into a nominal reamed hole.
In hardened hinge assemblies, pivot locations, and guided links, the hardened ground pin helps repeat location through service, teardown, and rebuild cycles. Pull Dowel Pins add a tapped end for removal from blind holes when the die or fixture cannot be flipped.
