5/32 x 3 1/4 Heat Treated Steel Standard Dowel Pin is selected where a ground steel pin must hold alignment while surrounding fasteners provide clamp load. Standard Series dowels are intentionally oversize, with the basic diameter 0.0002 in. over nominal so the pin presses into a nominal reamed hole.
This size is often reviewed for die sets, die shoe alignment, and press tooling when a drawing calls for standard-series press-fit dowels. For worn or re-reamed holes, 0.001 Oversize Dowel Pins are the repair companion to standard pins used for initial installation.
