1/2 x 1 Heat Treated Steel Standard Dowel Pin provides a hardened, ground reference point for press-fit alignment in reamed holes. Standard Series dowels are intentionally oversize, with the basic diameter 0.0002 in. over nominal so the pin presses into a nominal reamed hole.
In retrofit work, die repair, and maintenance replacement, the hardened ground pin helps repeat location through service, teardown, and rebuild cycles. For worn or re-reamed holes, 0.001 Oversize Dowel Pins are the repair companion to standard pins used for initial installation.
