1/16 x 5/16 18-8 Stainless Steel Standard Dowel Pin is intended for clean industrial assemblies where stainless locating hardware is specified by the drawing or plant standard.
Instrument housings, small fixtures, and inspection nests use standard dowels to keep datum surfaces repeatable through removal and reassembly. For dry service where a hardened pin is specified, review Heat Treated Steel Standard Dowel Pins instead of substituting stainless. Use the nominal diameter, tolerance band, and length together; the dowel sets location while separate fasteners provide clamping force.
