Use the 5/8 x 1/2 0.001 Oversize Dowel Pin when a worn dowel hole needs a clean replacement fit rather than a move to the next fractional size. Compared with replacing the assembly detail, a properly prepared hole and oversize pin can bring the original locating point back into service.

Worn fixture holes can use this series when the standard dowel fit has opened up during repeated setup work. Review the nominal diameter, actual oversize diameter range, length tolerance, end style, material, and ASME series before substituting a standard pin.
