Typical uses include polished shaft collars, small hubs, and replacement collars on finished round stock. The alloy body is the dry-service workhorse choice when the bill of material calls for an alloy socket set screw with a soft face. Brass gives a firmer metallic contact face when that contact style is preferred over nylon.
