4-40 x 1/2 Cup Point Alloy Steel Socket Set Screw with Nylon Insert uses heat-treated alloy steel body construction with a nylon pellet in the thread. Use the nylon-insert version when a plain cup point needs added thread friction after seating.

Conveyor drives use locking cup point screws in collars, hubs, and adjustment components that are serviced repeatedly. Confirm thread size, length, hex key size, cup point geometry, pellet diameter, and pellet location before substituting another set screw.

Use Cold Headers when the requirement is specific: alloy steel body, cup point, internal hex drive, and nylon insert. Plain alloy steel is not selected for corrosion resistance; keep parts oiled or step to the 18-8 stainless version when the environment requires it.
